Maybe I’m alone in this, but editing my stuff isn’t as fun as writing my stuff. I’m halfway through my first round of edits—just a basic run through to clean up some passive voice and typos, and gearing up for round two—a good protagonist dialogue edit. I think I can do a round of edits every week. And P.S. I’m calling my story “Blind” for now, but we’ll see how it goes.

I’ve drafted a query letter for A Scribble in the Margins and I’m planning to send it out this weekend. I’ve submitted queries for A Scribble before, but no bites yet. I did a major rework of the query and I’m hoping it will do the trick. Keep your fingers crossed for me, say a prayer, or send positive energy into the Universe—whichever you believe. Or all three. See if I care.

I finished The Lost World a couple of weeks ago and started on The Tragedy of Arthur, which was recommended to me by a friend. I love reading. I wish I had more time for it, but I truly love it. I’m fascinated by the way other people think—by the way they choose describe things and by the stories they’re driven to tell. It’s especially evident to me in poetry. Sometimes I wish I were Billy Collins’ brain. And Angelina Jolie’s body. But that’s another blog….

Well it’s way past my bed time but I didn’t want to let another day go by without blogging. Sleep sweet everyone.

Blog off.
